My rates are determined by looking at the content (technical or general), deadline and format/surrounding context (it may take longer to translate a PDF file or a handwritten document than it would a Word document). I average around 2,400–3,000 translated words/day, depending on the above mentioned variables. Sometimes I'm up for doing a translation test, sometimes I'm not – but it never hurts to ask.
